Why was my account rejected?

Your account can be rejected for a number of reasons, primarily if there is a failure during the Customer Identification Program (CIP) investigation process that occurs at account opening. This could be the result of inconsistent information regarding your name, address, tax ID/social security number (SSN), and date of birth. Sanctions & News checks use a series of aggregated Dow Jones lists which include international sanctions lists and more domestic-focused lists such as the U.S. Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) results. Apex Clearing (our broker / clearing / custody partner) internally curates the Do Not Do Business (DNDB) list to provide an extra layer of security for special use cases.
